The Scientist will be responsible for execution of experimental research activities across multiple biotherapeutic programs in areas of interest to 35Pharma. This position provides an opportunity to contribute to the building of a pipeline of promising biotherapeutics for treatment of life-threatening diseases through to launch of first-in-human trials.
Main responsibilities:
- Conduct and design laboratory experiments associated with the company’s preclinical and/or translational research activities
- Lead research projects currently underway in the laboratory
- Keep up to date on current scientific literature and demonstrate a capacity to make intellectual contributions to the experimental designs to achieve the objectives of the project
- Train and coordinate the activities of the research associates to achieve the company’s preclinical and discovery goals
- Work closely with members of other departments to ensure that a coordinated effort can be made to rapidly advance new projects to the clinic
- Design and coordinate in vivo experiments with collaborators and CROs. Analyze and report experimental results
- Review and provide feedback on experimental designs and reports of other scientists
- Have leadership skills and an advance capacity to assemble and present scientific results to colleagues and the senior scientific management at 35Pharma
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure accuracy and quality of work
- Understand, comply and promote safe laboratory and work practices
- Use summary reports to plan and organize work
Qualifications:
- PhD in a Biological discipline, with a minimum of 3 years directly related experience
- Strong background in molecular biology and cell culture
- Experience in protein biochemistry, including expression and purification of recombinant proteins
- Expertise in flow cytometry would be an advantage
- Excellent oral and written communication skills for effectively interfacing with all levels of management and departments within the company
- Candidate must be meticulous and be detail-oriented with a high level of efficiency
- Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team
- Must be an independent worker and be able to adapt to changing environments
- Good time-management, communication, multi-tasking and priority setting skills
- Diligent with rules and procedures
